The engine protection grille is an add-on to the main engine guard, designed for riders who regularly tackle muddy tracks or soft terrain where mud tends to build up around the exhaust header and engine block. This grille extends the coverage of the engine guard by closing the gap between it and the radiator guard, an area that would otherwise let stones, mud and water through easily.
It is made from anodized aluminium, a treatment that adds resistance to abrasion and to the corrosion typical of continuous use in muddy, damp conditions. It also carries HOMNN_EU approval for fitting on compatible models. Its main function is to stop the exhaust header from quickly becoming caked in mud, which could cause the engine to overheat under demanding riding conditions.
The photo shows a perforated grille with a pattern of openings that allows airflow while preventing mud build-up, finished in a metallic anodized tone, with several visible mounting points for attachment to the chassis, alongside the engine guard and radiator guard.
Fitted in place, it closes the gap between both guards and extends the overall coverage, helping to keep the exhaust header clear and preventing accumulated mud from raising engine temperature during long rides through muddy terrain.
