This KTM master cylinder protector covers and shields the rear brake pump, a point commonly exposed to impacts from stones, branches or mud during off-road riding, and is especially useful for those who push their bike hard away from tarmac. It is a part designed to reinforce the protection of this component without hindering its maintenance.
It is made from aluminium with an anodized surface, which gives it resistance to impacts and corrosion as well as a uniform finish. According to the manufacturer, its design allows easy access for adjusting the brake pedal height, so there is no need to remove the protector to carry out this routine adjustment.
In the photo the part is shown with a smooth anodized finish, with a shape that wraps around the rear brake pump body and leaves the pedal adjustment screw accessible. Its profile is compact and follows the contour of the cylinder itself.
In use, this protector reduces the risk of the brake cylinder being hit or exposed to dirt while riding, while still allowing the pedal height to be adjusted without having to remove the part each time.
