This M8x25 magnetic drain bolt is an original KTM PowerParts spare part designed for the engine or gearbox oil sump, at the point where the oil is drained during routine maintenance. Its function is twofold: sealing the drain hole tightly and, thanks to the magnet built into the tip, collecting metal particles released by internal wear, preventing them from circulating back through the lubrication circuit.
It is an M8 threaded bolt measuring 25 mm in length, made from steel with a metallic finish resistant to oil exposure and the engine's operating temperatures. The hexagonal head allows tightening and loosening with a standard wrench, while the threaded end integrates the magnet that acts as an additional magnetic filter for as long as the part remains fitted.
The photograph shows the silver finish typical of unpainted steel, with a well-defined hexagonal head and the threaded shaft visible along its full length down to the tip, where the magnet is located. The surface is smooth, with no coloured coatings, as befits a component meant to remain hidden inside the sump once installed.
