The magnetic drain bolt is the part that seals the drain hole in the engine casing or oil cover, and is usually replaced with every oil change to ensure a proper seal. It is a maintenance spare part for the engine, suited to any bike requiring this routine service.
It is a bolt with M6x20 thread and ISA30 head, featuring a magnet built into its inner end. This magnet captures the metal particles generated by normal wear of internal engine components, preventing them from circulating again in the fresh oil after draining.
The photo shows the metal body of the bolt with its visible thread and head machined for a tool, along with the gasket supplied with it to ensure a tight seal when draining.
In use, this bolt enables a more thorough oil change, as it helps remove metal filings accumulated in the engine casing, keeping the fresh oil free of residue from the very start.
