This left-hand thermal protection foil belongs to the KTM PowerParts range and is fitted to the chassis or fairing area exposed to the heat generated by the exhaust system, on the left side of the bike. It is designed for riders who want to preserve nearby components against continuous heat radiation during use of the motorcycle.
It is a shaped metal foil that follows the exact profile of the area where it is installed, with the mounting holes needed to secure it with screws to the chassis or bodywork. Its cut-out geometry and reinforcing folds give it enough rigidity to hold its shape despite being close to a constant heat source.
The photograph shows an elongated, curved metal sheet with a matte metallic finish, several holes of different diameters spread across its surface, and a longitudinal fold that marks its area of greatest rigidity.
Once installed in position, it acts as a barrier between the exhaust heat and nearby elements, helping to delay the deterioration of plastics, paint or wiring located in that area during normal use of the motorcycle.
