This retainer kit is part of the KTM PowerParts spares range and brings together the sealing rings needed to prevent oil leaks or the entry of dirt at the point where they are fitted.
The seals are made from elastomer material with a metal reinforcement in their inner structure, a common system in this type of seal that combines the rigidity needed to hold its shape with the flexibility of the sealing lip, which is the part that makes direct contact with the moving shaft or rod.
In the photograph, several round black parts can be seen, with a thin inner lip and a thicker outer body with a smooth surface. The parts shown are of different diameters, corresponding to the different locations the kit is designed for.
Replacing the seals with this kit restores the original tightness at the mounting point, preventing oil or grease loss and the entry of dust and water that, over time, end up accelerating wear on the component they protect.
