The KTM Quadrax M5 spoke nipple is the tensioning part that connects each spoke to the rim on spoked wheels, a spare component within the PowerParts range for wheel maintenance.
It is a nipple with M5 thread and a square-section head, the Quadrax design that offers more bearing surface for the spoke wrench than a conventional hexagonal nipple, making precise spoke tensioning easier and reducing the risk of rounding off the faces with repeated tool use.
The photo shows the part in an upright position, with the gold-finish square head at the top and the cylindrical threaded body at the bottom, where the machined thread pitch can be seen.
During wheel maintenance, this nipple allows the tension of each spoke to be adjusted individually, a task needed to keep the rim centred and prevent it from loosening with use.
