This silent block is an anti-vibration bush from the PowerParts range, used to absorb engine or exhaust vibrations at the anchor points where it is fitted. It is a replacement part intended to replace a silent block that has deteriorated or hardened with use.
Its construction combines a 20x12 millimetre rubber body with two threaded metal inserts on its faces, one M6x10 and the other M6x8, allowing it to be bolted on both sides to the corresponding brackets.
The photograph shows a black rubber cylinder with the two metal cores protruding from each face, with a smooth surface and compact shape, characteristic of the silent blocks used in exhaust brackets or other components subject to vibration.
In use, its function is to filter the vibrations between the two parts it joins, preventing them from being transmitted to the chassis and reducing fatigue wear at the anchor point.
