The KTM rear wheel hub is the central component of the rear wheel, the part that houses the axle bearings and supports both the spokes and the sprocket carrier of the drivetrain. Within the PowerParts wheel and chassis range, it is a replacement part for when the original hub shows wear, play in the bearings or damage affecting wheel trueness.
It is made from machined aluminum, aiming for a balance between strength and low weight, since it has to withstand both drivetrain loads and rear braking forces. The body includes the radial holes for mounting the spokes, the bearing seats inside and the mounting points for the sprocket carrier and, where applicable, for the brake disc.
The photo shows the characteristic finish of machined aluminum, with smooth surfaces combined with lightening cutouts and holes arranged radially and symmetrically around the body. The sprocket carrier mounting holes can be seen on one face, while the inside shows the seat prepared for the axle bearing.
In use, this part centers the rear wheel on the axle and distributes loads between the drivetrain, the spokes and the braking system, being key to ensuring the wheel spins without play or vibration.
