The rubber buffer is a small damping element from KTM's PowerParts range, acting as an elastic limit stop at points where two components might otherwise come into direct contact.
It is made of solid black rubber, with a stepped body combining a larger-diameter section with a narrower base, designed to fit into its housing and stay secured by press-fit without additional elements.

Thanks to its elasticity, it cushions contact between parts, reducing the noise and wear that would occur from a direct impact between two rigid components.
