This 2.8 mm lined friction plate is a component of the clutch disc pack from the KTM PowerParts range, designed for those who need to renew the friction assembly of their oil-bath multi-plate clutch.
It consists of a metal backing plate with a friction lining bonded to both faces, with a thickness of 2.8 mm, designed to alternate with the steel driven plates inside the housing and maintain the contact surface needed for power transmission.
The photograph shows a circular plate with a dark brown friction ring covering much of its surface and the machined metal core with engagement teeth at the centre.
Once fitted into the clutch pack, it provides the grip and progressiveness needed for smooth, consistent disengagement of the drivetrain during regular use of the motorcycle.
