This 2.8 mm outer lined friction plate is a component of the clutch disc pack from the KTM PowerParts range, intended to work together with the steel driven plates inside the oil-bath clutch housing.
It features a metal backing plate coated with friction material on both faces, with a thickness of 2.8 mm, and engagement teeth machined on the outer diameter of the plate, allowing it to lock onto the corresponding element of the clutch assembly.
The image shows a circular plate with the dark brown friction ring covering most of its surface and the engagement teeth visible all around the outer edge.
Its role within the clutch pack is the same as the rest of the lined plates: to create the contact surface needed to transmit engine power progressively and without jerks.
