This KTM chain, with 415 pitch and 104 links, is a replacement part developed specifically for motocross use on small-displacement bikes, designed to replace the original chain once it wears out.
It does away with O-rings and Z-rings between the links, a solution that reduces internal friction and power loss in the transmission while maintaining good durability. It has a 415 pitch, the narrowest in the range, in line with the reduced power output of these bikes, with 104 links and HOMNN_EU approval.
The photograph shows a chain with a metallic finish, with the small-sized links typical of 415 pitch, cleanly cut side plates and pins with no rubber seals visible between the joints.
This lightweight, unsealed construction reduces the transmission's rotational resistance, making it suitable for entry-level and small-displacement bikes, although it requires checking lubrication more often than a sealed chain.
