This 700 mm starter cable is the electrical conductor that carries the high-intensity current from the battery or relay to the starter motor, designed for anyone needing to replace the original wiring due to wear, damaged insulation or corroded terminals.
It consists of a thick-gauge copper conductor, capable of handling the current spike required to turn the starter motor, covered by an insulating sheath that protects it from engine heat and abrasion against other components. At its ends it features connection terminals ready to be bolted directly to the battery terminal and to the starter motor body.
The photograph shows a black cable of substantial gauge, with metal terminals at each end; one in eyelet form for the retaining bolt and the other with the connection body typical of the starter motor.
A cable in good condition ensures an electrical connection free of added resistance, avoiding voltage drops that could hinder the starter motor from turning, especially in cold conditions.
