The air filter sand protection is a PowerParts accessory designed for riders tackling dusty terrain or loose sand, where the original air filter gets clogged prematurely. It fits as a complement to the intake system and adds an extra layer of protection against fine particles.
According to the manufacturer, its purpose is to prevent sand from clogging the air filter too soon, allowing longer service intervals between cleaning or replacing the filter element. It is specifically designed for very dusty conditions, a common scenario in enduro, motocross and off-road riding on loose terrain.
The photo shows a wraparound-profile piece, designed to fit over the shape of the original air filter, with a functional finish geared toward durability in demanding use rather than aesthetics.
In daily use, this protector reduces how often the filter needs maintenance on sandy tracks and helps keep intake airflow free of coarse particles, protecting the engine from premature wear caused by sand ingestion.
