With over three decades of racing experience and over 126 Enduro world titles to its credit, KTM remains the weapon of choice when it comes to taking on the world's toughest races. And in its 2024 version, the KTM EXC name continues to set the bar for performance, development and innovation with its most radical transformation to date.
The hydroformed, laser-cut and robotically welded frame forms the backbone of the KTM Enduro 2024 range. This brings new longitudinal and torsional flex parameters to the riding experience for responsiveness, energy absorption and straight-line stability. unrivaled, but also provides the foundation on which the 2024 model range is built.
Up front, the KTM EXC and EXC-F ranges now feature an all-new 48mm closed-cartridge spring WP XACT fork, incorporating a new mid-valve piston concept that optimizes oil flow within the cartridge.
KTM Enduro models continue to feature the proven PDS progressive damping system, updated and optimized for 2024 to work more smoothly with the new chassis concept, mated to a new WP XPLOR PDS shock.
An industry first, both suspensions remain fully adjustable for compression and rebound damping via manual overrides, without the need for tools, with preload easily adjustable at the rear.
The completely new and lightweight rear subframe is made in 2 pieces, combining polyamide and reinforced aluminium. It offers extraordinary handling behavior and response, as well as remarkable robustness. All electronics, including an all-new offroad control unit, are fully integrated into the subframe for easy access and improved protection.
A new front fender design now also incorporates mud-repelling flaps to prevent dirt and mud from getting onto the rider or radiators, while new 8.3-litre 4-stroke and 8-litre fuel tanks 9 liters - 2 times - made of transparent polyethylene (XPE) for an easy control of the level of gasoline complete the whole of the bodywork.
.
Control of the electronics is provided by a fully independent OCU located under the seat, which eliminates the use of electronic fuses and relays. In case of failure of any electrical component, the connections are deactivated individually, indicating the error status of each unit by means of a red or green LED light. This makes troubleshooting on the fly quick and easy.
In terms of engines, the range of 2-stroke models once again takes its place as the leader in the mix motorcycle paddock, introducing a new electronic injection technology in the throttle body. Called TBI for short, this system provides ultra-smooth levels of carburettor-level power delivery, while eliminating the need for carburetion readjustment for altitude.
The reed intake has also received a major design update, with new plastic flaps on the outside to improve intake duct sealing. This new design avoids excess gasoline in extreme sections of ascent or descent, which could cause excessively rich carburetion.
A beneficial side effect of the new electronic fuel injection and engine control unit is the implementation of the new electronic exhaust gas control, which allows for two different engine maps, selectable via an optional map change switch.
The KTM EXC 2024 2-stroke range will again be made up of the following models:
• KTM 150 EXC
• KTM 250 EXC
• KTM 300 EXC
The 4-stroke model range provides the most concise offering of models. All models in the 4-stroke range benefit from class-leading engines designed to deliver massive low-end torque and explosive power delivery at high revs.
Improved center of gravity has been achieved by tilting the engine 2º to the rear and repositioning the drive sprocket 3mm lower, to greatly improve handling and handling. Along with the advantages of mass centralization and weight reduction, the antisquat behavior of the chassis has been significantly improved, improving traction on extreme inclinations and enhancing corner exit on special enduro stages.
The 2024 KTM EXC-F also debuts the optional addition of Traction Control and, for the first time on an enduro machine – a Quickshifter function. The latter allows clutchless upshifting from 2nd to 6th, so the rider can keep the throttle fully open at all times for better control. These systems can be turned on or off via a newly designed optional map change switch.
The KTM EXC-F 2024 4-stroke range is made up of the following models:
• KTM 250 EXC-F
• KTM 350 EXC-F
• KTM 450 EXC-F
• KTM 500 EXC-F
The 2024 KTM Enduro range is the culmination of many years at the pinnacle of Enduro competition, amalgamating a dynamic mix of performance, ergonomics and race-bred technology to challenge any terrain and redefine any limit.
As always, and thanks to the worldwide network of KTM dealers, the availability of parts and support necessary to compete at the highest level is easily accessible, with the addition of KTM PowerWear and specific KTM PowerParts, designed to allow the highest levels of performance, protection and mobility to all offroad riders and fans.
